Battery protection IC ensures safety and prevents overcharge

Ricoh electronics  R5617 Series battery Protection ics, now available from Mouser, provide overcharge, overdischarge, and charge/discharge overcurrent protection for single-cell lithium ion and polymer batteries. 

 ICs offers ±10mV ultra-high overcharge detection, enabling the series to ensure safe prevention of overcharge and make full use of battery capacity.  In addition, the ICs's low 2µA power consumption minimizes its own battery consumption. 

The integrated circuit adopts compact dfn1814-6b package and ultra-small wlcsp-6-p13 package, which is suitable for space limited applications 

Typical applications include the smartphones, tablets, handheld games and hearing AIDS we all use.
