   RS Components now offers The Power Integrations InnoSwitch3-EP series IC, which greatly simplifies the design and manufacture of flyback Power converters, especially those requiring high efficiency and/or compact size. The series contains a high voltage power switch, primary and secondary controllers, and safety level feedback in a single IC. These devices include a variety of protection features, providing line overvoltage and undervoltage protection, output overvoltage and overcurrent limiting, and overheat turn-off. The device provides standard and peak power transmission options, usually using automatic restart protection behavior.

   The series provides very high efficiency over the full load range. They integrate multi-mode quasi resonance (QR)/CCM flyback controllers, high voltage switches, secondary side induction and synchronous rectification drivers to provide excellent multi-output cross regulation and synchronous FET via weighted secondary side regulation (SSR) feedback. They also provide excellent CV/CC accuracy, independent of external components. The device uses an external output detection resistor to provide adjustable and accurate output current detection.

   Automatic restart output UV protection and peak power transmission options are also available. The series fully complies with safety and regulatory requirements; UL1577 and TUV (EN60950, EN62368) safety certification. Excellent noise resistance enables the design to deliver "A" class performance standards in accordance with en61000-4 kits; En61000-4-2, 4-3 (30V/m), 4-4, 4-5, 4-6, 4-8 (100A/m) and 4-9 (1000A/m) and Ford FMC1278 (RI-115).
