Microchip Technologies provides automotive developers with scalable applications for future technologies while also meeting the latest automotive needs, providing a comprehensive ecosystem around autosar-ready dsPIC33C DSCs to facilitate accelerated development and high levels of system optimization while reducing total system cost.

The company is expanding its comprehensive dsPIC33C DSC portfolio to cover the mass memory segment with the new ISO 26262 compliant dsPIC33CK1024MP7xx family. The device family also includes a high-performance CPU and dedicated peripherals with deterministic response for general-purpose automotive, advanced sensing and control, digital power and motor control applications. And the new device family with 1 mb flash memory supports automotive software applications such as AUTOSAR, operating systems, MCAL drivers, ISO 26262 functional safety diagnostics and safety libraries.

"Autosar-ready dsPIC33C DSCs enable autoSAR-based applications, functional safety goals, and security use cases in a single microcontroller (MCU)," said Joe Thomsen, vice president, MCU16 Business Unit, Microchip Technology. To achieve a high level of system optimization while meeting the needs of powerful automotive applications." "This opens up a world of opportunities for designers looking to work with Microchip, while expanding into telecommuting and advanced sensing and control applications."

"We work with our partners to provide an integrated solution that simplifies the development of automotive Oems and Tier 1 manufacturers," said Matthias Kaestner, vice president, Automotive Products Business Unit, Microchip. "The integrated solution provides insights into autoSAR based development. It simplifies the evaluation of ECU projects using AUTOSAR 4.3. And enable customers to quickly familiarize themselves with dsPIC33 autoSAR-ready DSCs based systems."

The company has developed its functional safety package, which includes FMEDA reports, safety manuals and diagnostic libraries to cover the ISO 26262 compliant dsPIC33CK1024MP7xx DSC. These AUTOSAR-enabled dsPIC33C DSC are used with its TA100 CryptoAutomotive security IC to help enforce strong safety in vehicle design.
