Toshiba Electronics Europe Co., Ltd. released a super small and highly integrated step motor drive, which helps reduce product design, improve reliability, and reduce BOM and listing time. The integrated ADMD system guarantees effective PWM current control under various conditions. By integrated clock interfaces, up to 32 micro steps can be achieved.

The working output voltage range of the new integrated circuit TB67S549FTG is from 4.5V to 33V, providing a working current of up to 1.2A. It is an ideal choice for various constant current control stepping motor applications, including automation and commercial and industrial equipment in the office. It is also suitable for monitoring cameras and projectors.

Packaged in a 4mm x 4mm QFN24 package, it only occupies the installation area of 64%of its predecessor IC, so it saves circuit board space and cost. In addition, the internal monitoring circuit used for constant current control does not require external current detection resistance, and also contains the charge pump capacitance, which further reduces the size and number of components.

The device also contains a complete set of protection, including overcurrent detection, heat stop and underwriting lock. A compact assessment board and stepping motor IC are available. STEP 12 CLICK board is created with Mikroe. It is supported by a library that is in line with Mikrosdk and simplifies software development.

Although the packaging size is small, the ON resistance of the motor -driven output block is only 1.2 ohm (typical), which maintains low power consumption and allows higher efficiency. In addition, it has a power -saving and dormant mode, which reduces the current consumption to below 1 μA so that it is widely used for 12V/24V power applications.
