Melexis has introduced the latest DVKs for current sensor IC evaluation. They optimize investment and resource allocation. These DVKs also provide engineers with a preview of an actual IC design.

The company has launched two new development kits. One DVK allows engineers to experiment with permutations with IMC-Hall technology (with or without shielding), while the other does the same with traditional core-based Hall technology. With them, engineers can verify that their hardware has different sensor capabilities and covers different current sensing ranges. Both allow engineers to investigate the functionality of current sensor integrated circuits, thereby reducing customer development time and speeding project completion.

The new DVK is equipped with several of the company's existing sensors. Imc-hall's DVKS include the MLX91208 and MLX91216 chips, as well as the recently introduced MXL91218. Traditional hall DVKS are MLX91209, MLX91211, MLX91217 and MLX91219. These effectively cover its second generation of external main current sensors. This allows engineers to test different magnetic configurations and ics, saving time and effort during the selection process.

DVK offers 3D-printed stands to hold the shield and core (if applicable) firmly in place. Engineers don't have to build their own fixtures, which saves time and effort. The materials used can handle higher temperatures. The DVK also includes a busbar to simplify the setup process.

Bruno Brie, product line manager for Melexis current said:"These new DVKS provide engineers with design systems that make their lives easier. "Using these DVKs and the various devices included, they can quickly and comfortably evaluate the operational parameters of their system. They can then choose the ideal current sensor from the Melexis portfolio based on their specific needs. This will lead to better design concepts and faster time-to-market."
